Speaking of the October tour … most dates are now sold out but limited tickets remain for the Wednesday Brisbane gig and the Gold Coast next week.

With her acclaimed album “The Sound Of White” still sitting at #1 on the national charts, Missy Higgins has announced a handful of extra shows on her October national tour.

Initial dates inmost cities sold out within days so these additional gigs have been added to help satisfy demand.

Missy will play The Forum in Melbourne on Wednesday October 27. Tickets will go on sale for this showon Monday September 27 at 9am through Ticketek (phone 132 849) or visit http://premier.ticketek.com.au/.

Extradates at the Governor Hindmarshin Adelaide on October 21 and The Tivoli in Brisbane on October 6 have also been added and are on sale now.

Tickets forasecond show at the Metro inSydneyon October 25 and her date at the Roxy in Parramatta are selling fast.

All of these dates will feature Missy with her band and are for over 18’s only.

Perth people should keep an eye on this site as Missy will be playing her ownW.A. show in mid-November.

Under 18’s in the Sydney region should stay tuned for an announcement late next weekabout a very special all agesshow for Missy in December.

Channel [V] has launched its annual Oz Artist Of The Year competition. It’s the only public vote award to be included in the ARIA awards telecast where the winner will be announced on October 17th.

To vote for Missy Higgins you can either register on Channel [V] (www.channelv.com.au/aria2004/) and vote from the list, or pick up an entry form at HMV stores nationally until October 10.

As extra incentive one lucky winner will be randomly selected to fly to Sydney with a friend to join Jabba and the [V] crew on the ARIA Awards red carpet on Sunday October 17. Voting wraps up at midnight on Thursday October 14.

Due to overwhelming ticketdemand Missyis adding a few dates to her forthcoming tour. She will play an extra show at the Metro in Sydney on Monday October 25. She will also be adding two Perth shows in mid-November and a Melbourne show in very early December (details will be announced shortly).

&article9=Missy Higgins will make her first ever Rove[Live] appearance on Tuesday September 14. She will perform “Scar” on the popular Ten Network program. We’re offering visitors to this website an exclusive chance to win a double pass to be in the audience on the night.

1) The show has a policy that all audience members MUST be 18years or over. No people below this age will be allowed entry to the studio on the night so all entrants MUST be 18 or older.

It’s been a memorable week for former JJJ Unearthed winner, Missy Higgins.

On Monday her album “The Sound Of White” debuted at #1 on the Australian charts.

On Tuesday a bunch of dates on her October national tour sold out and extra shows had to be added to her touring schedule.

On Wednesday Missy accepted the Finn Brothers invitation to join them as special guest on their Australian tour in November. They also asked her to join them for shows that month in London and Auckland.

Today – Thursday – her album was certified platinum.

It was also announced today that Missy is one of the final five nominees for “Best Video”, “Best Single”, “Best Pop Release” and “Best Female Artist” at this year’s ARIA Awards. She will perform live on the prestigious award show when it is broadcast on October 17.

Tomorrow she travels to Perth for a sold out show and whatever happens next.

For example, over the next two weeks we’ll be exclusively previewing one new song from “The Sound Of White” every day. All advance tickets for Missy’s show at Tilleys in Canberra on Aug 2 have now sold out but limited number will be available at the door on the night. Also, due to popular demand Missy has added an extra show at the same venue on Wednesday August 1.

Thanks to everyone who helped make “Scar EP” #1 on the ARIA charts this week. It was a huge surprise. Missy received the news immediately after coming offstage at the Hordern Pavillion and much celebrating followed!
